South West Physiotherapy Services

At Abode, we are able to assess and treat a broad range of physical conditions, injuries and disorders.

We are specifically dedicated to providing in-home physiotherapy.

We specialise in treating the following conditions

Mobility Impairments due to Age or Disability

Physical mobility is one the most important components of a person’s independence and general health. Unfortunately, many people suffer from reduced mobility for a variety of reasons and this can have a profound effect on their independence, quality of life and ability to live in their own home. We are experts in identifying the reasons for mobility decline and providing effective treatments to maximise our clients’ mobility and improve their quality of life.

Rehabilitation following Surgery, Hospitalisation or Acute Health Condition

Patients are discharged from hospital when they are medically stable and have regained an acceptable level of mobility and function, however they are frequently discharged before they have regained an optimal level of mobility and function. In-home physiotherapy can bridge this gap by enabling patients to achieve their optimal level of mobility and function following discharge.

We provide rehabilitation following a broad range of orthopaedic surgeries, including joint replacements, tendon repairs (e.g. rotator cuff), fracture repairs and joint reconstructions. We are also able to help people recovering from acute illness, neurological events (such as stroke and brain injury) and general deconditioning/weakness.

Chronic Pain

1 in 5 Australians live with chronic pain. This increases to 1 in 3 people over the age of 65. These numbers are clearly far too high and represent a significant problem for our society. Chronic pain has a profound impact on people’s lives and, more broadly, our healthcare system and economy.

Most people aren’t aware that having the right information about their condition and the right advice regarding management can be extremely powerful in improving chronic pain. At Abode In-Home Physio, we empower our patients by providing them with the tools to effectively manage and improve their chronic pain conditions. We treat and manage a broad range of chronic pain conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, joint pain, osteoarthritis and many more.

Falls Prevention

Falls are a leading cause of injury, hospitalisation and functional decline among older adults. Physiotherapy programs with a focus on strength and balance training are scientifically proven to reduce falls as well as improve mobility and function. Whether you or your loved one has a history of falls, or may be at risk of future falls, we can help!
